Blocking training crawlers such as GPTBot and ClaudeBot is a choice about model training. Blocking search and browsing agents such as OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User, PerplexityBot and Claude-SearchBot stops assistants from fetching your pages to answer questions, which usually lowers your visibility.
llms.txt is a plain-text file at the root of a site that summarises what the site is and links to its most useful pages, written for AI assistants. It is a proposed convention, not a guarantee of citations, but it is cheap to publish and easy for an assistant to read.
